Mundys has strengthened its leadership in sustainability, maintaining its prestigious position on CDP’s “A-list” for the second consecutive year. CDP is an international organization that evaluates companies’ environmental and climate performance. As highlighted in a statement, this achievement “reflects the Group’s companies’ ongoing commitment to implementing a decarbonization strategy, which includes more than 150 initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and managing climate change-related risks. These efforts translate into significant investments in infrastructure energy efficiency and energy transition, through the widespread adoption of LED lighting, replacement of heating and cooling systems, electrification of company fleets, installation of solar power plants on infrastructure, and the deployment of charging stations for electric vehicles.”
Thanks to these actions, Mundys has distinguished itself among global companies, ranking at the top out of more than 24,800 organizations analyzed and achieving the highest possible score, “A,” on a scale ranging from “D-” to “A.”
The recognition received is part of a complex journey that includes the certification of CO2 emission reduction targets by the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi), participation in international working groups on decarbonization in the transport sector, and the integration of sustainability into financial strategy.
Moreover, Mundys was among the first Italian companies to implement a Climate Action Plan, aimed at promoting energy transition and decarbonization across the entire value chain in the airport, highway, and mobility services sectors. It has set clear goals, such as achieving net-zero direct emissions (Scope 1 & 2) by 2040.
The statement also emphasizes that this recognition comes following the inauguration of a new solar farm by Aeroporti di Roma, a subsidiary of Mundys, at Fiumicino Airport. This facility, the largest self-consumption solar plant in a European airport, is one of the key projects in the Group’s climate transition plan and demonstrates its concrete and ongoing commitment to sustainability.
